Howard began his drag racing career at Detroit Dragway in Brownstown MI in NHRA's street class.  In the first year qualified to go to the Bracket finals in Indianapolis. A couple of years later, he moved into the box class and got a licensed in Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, and Super Comp.  Currently, he competes in Top Dragster and Super Comp.

Over his career, Howard has claimed an IHRA Super Comp 10th place winner in the World, plus a Top Sportsman champion of Div 5 in 2008. 

Howard is licensed to compete in the following NHRA/IHRA classes: Super Comp, Top Sportsman, and Top Dragster.
